David Fine, president and CEO, St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System, and Irene Helsinger, senior vice president and chief administrative officer, St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System, were featured guest speakers for the opening ceremonies of the 8th Annual BAPS Health Fair at the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Stafford, Texas on April 5.

Also featured were Texas Heart Institute physicians Bernardo Treistman, MD, and Juan Carlos Rozo, MD, who presented an informative seminar on living with a healthy heart. In addition, more than twenty St. Luke’s employees participated in the festivities by providing free blood pressure screenings. Many of the St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital team shared information about services, features and the opening of St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital in fall 2008.

BAPS Charities is a worldwide civic and religious organization dedicated to the spirituality of the individual while promoting harmony between individuals, within families and within diverse communities. Since 2000, health fairs at the Mandir have benefitted more than 19,000 individuals. St. Luke’s Health System was very pleased to have participated in this event and looks forward to a long and rewarding association with this charity.
